BUSINESS PRACTICE

Insulated tilt-up is a process in which large insulated concrete panels are cast on site and placed into their positions. No columns are needed as the roof structure keeps the walls together and the walls keep the roof up.

With the simplicity of what the building can be, the sky is the limit for design. With an ever-evolving level of finishing and the pushing of design capability, concrete is one of the most versatile and forgiving materials to work with.

THE PROCESS

Adopting and applying a building technique that has been perfected for over 50 years in the USA to our home country. The process involves sandwiching insulation between two large scale concrete panels and connecting them together with thermodynamic pins.

  • Tilt-up construction provides airtight, energy-efficient buildings with fewer joints and better sealing.
  • It reduces refrigerant leaks and improves insulation, saving about 20–30% energy.

  • It is well suited for RA/CA rooms and cold storage due to rising agricultural demand.

INSULATION THECNOLOGY

The debate and use of EPS or XPS is long-standing. We choose to use XPS as it is more dense, does not allow for water absorption affecting the R-value, and provides more tensile strength for the panel.

  • Moisture behaviour
    • XPS: Hydrophobic (resists water absorption)
    • EPS: Hydrophilic (more prone to absorbing water)
  • Compressive strength
    • XPS: 200–750 kPa
    • EPS: 70–250 kPa

XPS is denser, stronger, and more water-resistant than EPS, making it better suited for demanding insulation applications.
