Packaging provides transport and protection for fruit during handling and adds value by presenting produce to the consumer. Use only approved packaging materials. Cartons should have adequate stacking strength and good ventilation. Polyethylene bags may be used to prevent moisture loss and for modified atmosphere packaging to prevent yellowing.
